AMNEXUS SYSTEMS
Collection of vessels, ports, valves and glands involved in production, circulation and control of Moya's amniotic fluids.

AMNIOTIC FLUIDS
Natural secretion that contains nutrients for a fetus - in this case, Moya's.

AMNIOX
Valve that controls the flow of Moya's amniotic fluid.

AQUARRA
Planet colonized by subjects of the Hynerian Empire during the reign of Rygel X.

AQUARRANS
Descendants of the colonists of Aquarra. All their ancestors' machinery was useless because of a Negative Power Vortex until Rygel XVI later deactivated it.

ARN
A measurement of time similar to an hour in its increments.

ARTICLE 4-1-4 DECCA
Article in PK Military Code referring to assumption of command of one PK officer's ship by another PK officer who is under special or priority orders.

ASO SCENT
Perfume/pheromones which makes one irresistible to the opposite sex. Rygel bet his Aso Scent which was 90 parts pure in a game of Tardac with Stanz.

"Barken out of Hezmana"
Hynerian clichÈ which basically means 'Bat Out Of Hell'.

BIOMECHANOID
Part machine, part organic.

CENOBIA REBELLION
Quelled by Captain Durka sometime before his surrender to the Nebaris; a feat held in awe by modern Peacekeepers. [Durka Returns]

CESIUM FUEL
Space vessel fuel commonly used by Peacekeepers. Made from processed Tannot root among other things. Cesium fuel is extremely volitile and when mixed improperly can ignite in a vacuum.

CHAKAN OIL
Explosive Liquid synthesized from the "Tannot root." It is used to fuel PK weapons and ships.

CLORIUM
One of the "7 Forbidden cargoes" aboard a Leviathan. It is an element with multiple uses including: levitation anesthetic and food seasoning.

CONTROL COLLAR
A device installed on Leviathans when captured by Peacekeepers to obtain control over the creature.

CRYOSTASIS
Freezing a species in an attempt to isolate an abnormal reaction within its body's systems. Aeryn froze Rygel's body "105 below the Galarian frost point" to determine how to remove toxins from his body. [Thank God it's Friday Again]

CYCLE
A measurement of time similar to an earth year in its increments.

DATA STORES
Moya's data banks. [The Flax]

DEFENSE SCREEN
Similar to a force field, developed by the Peacekeepers. Moya's crew scavenged a defense screen from the Zelbinion.

DELVIANS
P'au Zotoh Zhaan's species.

DELVIAN MISSIONARIES
Located on the planet they named the "New Moon of Delvia" seeking to develop the knowledge to fight the Delvian regime and the Peacekeepers and gain power back on their home planet.

DELVIAN WANTA CHANT
Delvian chant which improves work efficiency.

DENEANS
Non-space faring species with similar technology to that of Earth. However, Pilot speculates that they must have either had prior contact with "alien" lifeforms or that Translator Microbes were indigenous to their world because Moya's crew was able to communicate with them.

DENTIC
A living toothbrush that is a cross between a caterpillar and maggot. When placed in your mouth, they clean your teeth by eating the bacteria & food particles - just don't swallow them!

DK
Crichton's best friend on Earth. While at IASA they developed the "Slingshot Theory" together that Crichton tested in Farscape 1. [Premiere]

DOCKING WEB
A device that serves as a form of tractor beam used to bring ships or passing objects aboard Moya. [Premiere]

DRAKS
Creature with several development stages. The 'swarm" is a cloud that can exist in deep space. The insect stage resembles a 2 foot long cockroach. Replicants are a defense and adapt to behavior of other life forms immediately. Monarch is the queen which gives birth but needs warmth to breed.

DRAZ
An expletive: "starburst the draz out of here."

DREN
Luxan expletive for something that smells very foul. (e.g. "You look like dren, you smell like dren")

DRD
Short for Diagnostic Repair Darter. They are fully mechanical, about 18 inches long, metallic, and have two headlights. Similar in function to the human immune system, their main duty is to help upkeep Leviathan systems.

FAHRBOT
Rygel, about Zhaan's strange behavior - "She's gone completely fahrbot!"

FARSCAPE 1
Crichton's IASA prototype space ship which is a defenseless scientific vessel. Crichton was using this ship to test his "Slingshot theory" when he got shot through a wormhole to another galaxy. Since Crichton has been aboard Moya, he has modified Farscape 1 by adding bio-mechanoid components to the ship.

FLAX
"Magnedrift mesh 75 million zacrons long" which captures, pulls in, and suspends in space anything that gets near it. It is maintained by Zenitan pirates.

FRELL
Expletive which means F**K (e.g. "Frell you" or "Get the Frell away from there").

FOOD CUBE
Cheap food that is universally edible developed by the Peacekeepers to serve their prison communities.

FRAG CANNON
A Peacekeeper ship weapon.

GAMMAK BASE
A type of base described in Peacekeeper officer field manuals as highly secret and off limits to any personnel other than those under specific orders requiring their presence.

GAUNTLET
A Tavlek weapon, worn on the forearm, that injects the wearer with a stimulant drug which heightens aggressive tendencies.

HESS
Expletive which means "Hell" usually used by D'Argo.

HYNERIANS
Rygel's species. The Hynerian empire includes over 600 billion subjects, all of which are not Hynerian.

HYNERIAN MAJOLS
Snail-like delicacy Rygel loves to eat.

IASA
International Aeronautics Space Administration.

ILANICS
Genetic cousins and allies with the Luxans for over 1000 cycles.

INTELLENT VIRUS
A colony virus that can contain a great amount of information within a small collection of cells. When transmitted from one host to another, these cells contain memories generated while within the previous host and even copies of some of the host's own memories. This type of virus is capable of using its host(s) memory and brain structure to carry out higher cognitive functions.

IRISCENTENT FLUID
Fuel of sorts, required to run Moya's drive.

JACK CRICHTON
John Crichton's father. He is a retired astronaut who has been to the moon.

JELLIFAN PASTE
Ingredient used in making bombs.

JOTHEE
D'Argo and his late wife, Lo'lann's, son.

KLENDIAN FLU
Illness Rygel contracted, similar to Earth flu strains.

KL-80
PK training vessel used to teach pilots the basics of space flight and combat.

KL-81
PK training vessel similar to the KL-80 with a few modifications.

KRAWLDAR
Hynerian delicacy.

LEVIATHANS
Moya's species. They are "living" bio-mechanoid ships often captured by Peacekeepers and used as transportation vehicles. They have no offensive capabilities but do have the "defensive" ability to "Starburst."

LIVING DEATH
Comatose state from which death is the only release. Since Sebaceans lack the gland that regulates heat, when exposed to high temperatures, they lapse into this state.

LO'LANN
D'Argo's Sebacean wife. Her brother Magdan was a Peacekeeper.

LUXANS
Ka D'Argo's species.

LUXAN ASSAULT PIERCER
Luxan ship D'Argo dreamed of "serving on as a boy."

LUXAN CHASE
Luxan mating ritual.

LUXAN HYPER-RAGE
Luxan males experience this rage at "that time of the month." It usually subsides after killing something, mating, or just a matter of time.

MAP FIBERS
Star charts.

MARAUDER
PK ship with a 5 man crew. Their crew's success "is measured by body count".

MCDOUGALL
John Crichton's mother's maiden name.

MELLETT
Undesirable food (presumably like liver). Rygel asks "What am I chopped Mellet," to which Zhann replies, "I can stomach Mellet."

MENTAL CLEANSING/MIND CONTROL
Method of eliminating undesirable thought patterns. From one perspective a form of brainwashing; from another a form of mental surgery. Takes 100 cycles with the victim/patient in cryonic suspension to accomplish.

METRA
A unit of distance measurement similar to a kilometer.

MICROT
Measurement of time; little more than a second. 3 microts = 4 seconds

MINTAKA 3
Liberated by Captain Durka sometime before his surrender to the Nebaris. This feat was held in awe by modern Peacekeepers.

MIVONKS
Part of D'Argo's reproductive anatomy. Aeryn said Matala was leading D'Argo around by his "mivonks."

NEBARI
Chiana's species who captured her and Durka. They are masters of powerful technology; one standard vessel was sufficient to destroy the Peacekeeper ship Zelbinion. They require conformity through "Mental cleansing" if necessary.

NEURAL STROKE
Fighting technique used by Scorvians. Matala used the "neural stroke" took knock Aeryn out.

NURFER
Peacekeeper derogatory slang, roughly meaning "Dork", "geek", or "idiot."

OCCULARS
PK version of binoculars except they actually amplify the power of the lens in one's own eyeballs. They look like a head set and according to Crichton, increase his vision from 20/20 to 200/20 when we puts Aeryn's set on.

PADDOC BEACON
A PK device, bonded to the neural nexus of a Leviathan. If it doesn't receive regular signals from the control collar, it activates a homing signal to alert PK's in the area.

PALMONIAN MEAT HOUNDS
Brutal animal. Aeryn tells John "the day they prove Humans and Sebaceans are alike is the day she lets Palmonian Meat Hounds tear all the flesh off her bones."

PANTAK JAB
A PK fighting manuever that can take someone down with one blow.

PEACEKEEPERS
PK for short, the Sebacean military force, hired to maintain order.

PHELEP NECTAR
Similar to beer. It comes from a creature called a Phelep that lives on Tarsus.

PHOTOGASM
Reaction Delvian females have when exposed to Ionic radiation (e.g. solar flares). Zhann explained this orgasmic sensation was one of the gifts of the Delvian seek.

PLASMA CANNON
Weapon fitted on Sheyang vessels.

PRIORITY RED-ONE
Classified Peacekeeper orders which can activate Article 4-1-4 Decca.

PROWLERS
Black mass-produced basic battle fighter in the PK attack force. They are similar in size to Crichton's Farscape 1 but are faster and more agile. The cockpit is built to hold one pilot but can seat two uncomfortably. Aeryn Sun's prowler is the only large-scale weapon at the crew's disposal.

PROFACTO
Expletive used by Rygel meaning S.O.B. (e.g. "You lucky Profacto").

PULSE RIFLE
PK weapon, fueled by Chakan oil. It can overload & explode if not used correctly.

PUNTAR
Expletive used by Kcrackic to describe Stanz (e.g. "A puntar named Stanz").

QUADRA HELIX
Similar to DNA strands. Namtar extracted them from Crichton, D'Argo, Rygel, and Zhann.

QUALTA BLADE
Luxan sword which is about three and a half feet long and also converts into an energy rifle.

QUANTUM SINGULARITY
Black Hole.

RETAINING SHIELD
Put in place on Moya (Tier 21) to prevent pregnancy.

SANCTITY ROOT
A twisted root which is toxic to everyone but Delvians. It symbolically represents purity in thought and intent of the spiritual teachings of the Delvian Missionaries.

SCORVIAN
A race at war with the Illanics, with the ability to alter their physical appearance by surgery.

SCRUB RUNNER
Peacekeeper surface vehicle.

SEBACEANS
Aeryn Sun's species. They are genetically similar to Humans and Skykarians but they have a weakness to heat which will cause them to suffer the "Living Death." Not all Sebaceans are Peace Keepers, but all Peace Keepers are Sebacean. Sebaceans who are not Peacekeepers primarily pursue farming and commerce activities.

"SEEK"
Journey of priesthood which begins with a Delvian's choice to become a P'au.

SHEYANGS
A scavenger race, with the ability to spit fire.

SHAI
Aquarran admonition which roughly means "Enough."

SHAKLOOM
Large Aquarran fresh water crab used to make shakloom jerky (a Hynerian delicacy).

SHILQUIN
A Luxan musical instrument.

SINGLE INFECTION STAGE
Early stage in the development of an Intellent virus during which the virus can only infect one host at a time. During this stage, it can move from one host to another, preferring to kill its previous host, if possible.

Skykarians
Mellow species genetically similar to Sebaceans and Humans. Aeryn calls them "common laborers"because they only grow plants.

SLEEP MIST
Encased seditive Zhann makes which is similar in shape to a water balloon.

SLINGSHOT
Flight maneuver Crichton was making when he got shot through the wormhole.

STARBURST
The seam between space-time dimensions. Moya's power cells allow access until she is pushed out, allowed her to travel vast distances in minimal time. It is the single defensive capability of a Leviathan.

STEVVA CRYSTALS
Ingredient used in making bombs.

TANNOT ROOT
The source of Chakan oil, grown primarily on Skykar. It is toxic to some lifeforms (Hynerians) when ingested while to other lifeforms it induces a psychological brainwashing effect.

TARAN RAU
Prison colony that Moya was taking its prisoners to when they escaped.

TARDAC
A game of skill which includes betting, bluffing, and trying to outwit the opponent. Rygel is especially skilled at playing the game.

TAVLEKS
Renegade mercenary soldiers banished from their homeworld who now mainly seize hostages for ransom. Their weapon of choice is the Gauntlet.

TIMBALA
Holy book of the Aquarrans. It was written in ancient Hynerian language and had been supplemented by the Aquarran Priestens. It also contains star chars and the story of the "Masata". The Timbala heralded Rygel the Tenth and his descendants as "Masatas" or Gods.

TOKKEN BLADE
A small knife, made of bone, used for a coming of age ritual Luxan males perform on themselves.

TRADS
Unit of power (e.g. 200 trads = 80% of Moya's transport pods' capability).

TRANSLATOR MICROBES
Injected at birth into all space faring species, which colonize at the base of the brain, and act as interpreters. Crichton was injected with these by a DRD.

TRANSPORT PODS
Bio-mechanoid transports grown by Leviathans. They are essential functions and require regular contact with Moya. They are not sentient and have no independent intellect, however Pilot's control over each is limited to monitoring communications and onboard systems. They require manual control of a flight crew to perform flight functions.

TRAO
Race with many tentacles and larynxes and the ability to reanimate others. Jotheb is the next in line of succession of the Collective of Trao (group of 10,000 planets).

TRELKEZ
Multi-headed, bird like creatures, their brains are used for food (and eaten raw). According to Aeryn, the more heads, the better the taste.

TRELKEY
Animal which foams at the mouth when sick.

UNCHARTED TERRITORIES
Area outside of PK space; where Moya ended up after her escape from the PK's.

UNITY
Delvians perform the "sacred surrender of two minds" which results in a single consciousness. Unity is a bond where souls merge and real knowledge is shared. Basically it is the opportunity to "give a piece of one's mind to another."

U-STAR
Peacekeeper transportation assignment.

U-TECH
Peacekeeper transportation technology division.

VORCARIAN BLOOD TRACKERS
Bounty Hunters with an especially keen sense of smell.

WANTED BEACON
Put in place by the Peacekeepers on many systems which advertises a bounty for returning D'Argo, Rygel, and Zhann into PK custody. Aeryn manipulates the beacon to find a message for her from Crais which instructs her to turn herself and the rest of the crew into him in exchange for a pardon.

WATRUKA PLANT
Stinging plant with a deceptively harmless appearance.

WEEKENS
Assumption being it's about a week.

WELNITZ
Expletive used by Furlow to a worker (e.g. "The other way, you dumb welnitz").

WORMHOLE
Unusual space phenomenon that shot Crichton from Earth into another part of the galaxy. Furlow describes wormholes as "theoretically possible yet no one has ever found one."

YOTZ
Expletive used primarily by Rygel (e.g. "What the Yotz is that?").

ZACRON
A unit of distance measurement "The Flax is a magnedrift mesh 75 million zacrons long."

ZELBINION
A Peacekeeper command carrier. Rygel was first imprisoned and tortured there by Captain Durka. It had been missing for over 100 cycles when discovered by Moya & her crew.

ZENITAN PIRATES
Group that maintains the Flax. They are Yenin by species and apparently tattoo one another with "Zenitan Game Murals."
